Jessica Alba is in negotiations to star in Robert Rodriguez’s “Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World.”
The Dimension movie is a reboot of sorts for the moneymaking franchise, which initially starred Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara as the kids of superspy parents (Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino). Rodriguez wrote and directed each installment.
Vega and Sabara are no longer kids — Vega is nearly 23 and recently engaged — but Rodriguez wanted to continue the series.
The new movie centers on Alba as a retired spy who has been reactivated. The actress, mother of a toddler in real life, will be playing the mother of a baby and two preteen stepchildren.
The actors cast in the preteen roles will be the new Spy Kids.
Other roles seeking to be filled include Alba’s husband, a slightly nerdy investigative reporter (might I suggest Borys Kit?), and the villain, known as the Time Keeper, whose goal it is to stop time.
It is expected that Banderas, Vega and Sabara will return in supporting roles.
Like most of Rodriguez’s movies, “Kids” will shoot in Austin. The movie, with a budget of less than $30 million, is eyeing a start next month.
The picture, which also has been known as “Spy Kids 4: Armageddon,” will be in 3D.
The new “Kids” marks the third time Alba has worked with Rodriguez. The WME-repped actress starred in 2005’s “Sin City” and appears in “Machete,” Rodriguez’s low-budget grindhouse flick that opens Sept. 3.

Always looking fabulous, Jessica Alba was spotted partaking in an exclusive photo shoot at a local studio in Los Angeles, California on Friday (August 20).
Quite the busy lady since returning home from an overseas summer getaway, the “Sin City” star stripped down to a skimpy all black getup as she bided time in between posing for a sure-to-be sexy spread.Click on the previews above to view more photos.

“Extra’s” Lauren Sanchez caught up with Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Danny Trejo, who all co-star with Lindsay Lohan in the new film “Machete” — and they’re wishing LiLo the best.
When asked if Lindsay can recover from her recent problems, Rodriguez, who also has a troubled past, said, “I think everybody should leave everybody to their own growth.”
Check out what Lindsay’s other co-stars are saying. Lohan was unable to promote the film as she’s in court-ordered rehab.

Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez were recently interviewed on the upcoming “Grindhouse” faux trailer turned film “Machete” from producer Robert Rodriguez.
The upcoming film “Machete” by director Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez (Sin City 3, Planet Terror) stars Danny Trejo (The Expendables, Predators), Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar, Fast & Furious), Jessica Alba (Little Fockers, The Eye), Robert De Niro (Stone, Meet the Parents), Lindsay Lohan (Ugly Betty) and Cheech Marin (The Perfect Game, Cheech & Chong).
Synopsis: The highly skilled Federale Machete is hired by some unsavory types to assassinate a senator. But just as he’s about to take the shot, he notices someone aiming at him and realizes he’s been set up. He barely survives the sniper’s bullet, and is soon out for revenge on his former employers, with the reluctant assistance of his old friend Cheech Marin, who has become a priest and taken a vow of nonviolence. If you hire him to take out the bad guys, make sure the bad guys aren’t you!

I would think that the success of THE EXPENDABLES this past weekend can only mean good things for MACHETE. They’re both very much action films with an old-school attitude, MACHETE almost even moreso. I know some lucky LA journalists got to see the film last night and I’m insanely jealous because I’m really curious to see what Robert Rodriguez cooked up here (probably even more excited than I was for EXPENDABLES).
Today we’ve got an exclusive clip from the film that features a showdown of sorts between Machete himself and Jessica Alba’s border agent Sartana. I don’t know where Machete is going after walking out the door but I’d imagine it’s not to catch the 3:30 showing of EAT, PRAY, LOVE. (More likely, he’s gonna slice some people up like a julienne salad.) Check out the exclusive MACHETE clip “Two Cops” below and remember to check it out, in theaters on September 3!
