Last night, we had the pleasure of meeting the stunning, amazing and all round drop-dead-gorgeous Jessica Alba. She’s in town for the premiere of Valentine’s Day tonight, but thought she’d take some time out to chat to us in her role as one of the faces of Revlon. Ain’t that sweet!
After stepping off her delayed flight, Jessica looked fresh and fabulous and, even if she was tired and jet-lagged, she couldn’t have been nicer. After getting over the fluster of meeting our girl crush, we probed into Jessica’s beauty secrets, obvs. She told us…
- she loves Revlon’s lipstick in Revlon Red, ‘it’s just a classic shade that I love’
- currently she’s obsessing about Revlon’s new Colorburst lipstick in Plum (out here in June)
- she swears by Yonka skincare and only likes to wear a tinted moisturiser
She also let us in on a little style secret – she’s almost certainly wearing a Prada dress that she helped design for tonight’s premiere. ‘I better wear Prada tonight seeing as I’ve told you that now!’ She’ll also be painting her nails with Revlon’s Valentine nail polish. How fitting! Although she’s wearing Prada to the premiere, she’s also lusting after the ‘silhouettes of Antonio Beradi and Proenza Schouler’. Well, who wouldn’t?

On husband Cash Warren
“We’re similar in some ways and opposites in others. We’re similar in social situations – we’re both open. But he’s not crazy about movies and I am. He doesn’t like cooking and I do. He loves sport and I don’t. Well, I do but I’d rather not watch it for 12 hours a day – then watch the highlights at the end!”
On Equality in Hollywood
“I believe there’s going to be more equality, and if women take on the attitude of lifting each other up instead of being competitive with each other, it’ll be better for all of us. There are amazing actresses – Zoe Saldana, Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts, Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes – so I’m all about supporting each other to succeed. A lot of women are so concerned with society telling us that we need to emulate this persona – like, if you’re a mum you act like this, and if you-re the girl next door you have to act like that. I was focused on making money and trying to stay relevant. I never bucked the system. But now I feel I can have more control and I want to play women who are strong and independant, who are completely flawed and have problems but that’s OK.”
On working with Lindsay Lohan
“Yeah, and my husband may do a TV show with her – ironically, about the ridiculousness of tabloids. Lindsay’s had to deal with this for so long. Everyone has to live their life, and that’s what people forget when you’re in this business. Lindsay’s really nice. We hang out and chat for hours about girl stuff.”

Jessica Alba graces the cover of ‘Self’ Magazine’s February issue, with a brand new photoshoot and interview. I’ve added the cover and 3 outtakes to the gallery thanks to Justjared.com.
On being a politician if she wasn’t an actress: “I used to think being a marine biologist would be the best thing ever, but now that I’ve grown up and seen things in the world, I think politics. Advocating and lobbying for certain issues would be a pretty interesting way to live your life… When I was in Washington, D.C., I got to meet Nancy Pelosi. She was so warm. I just grinned from ear to ear with my mouth open and my eyes bulging out of my head! Afterward, I called Cash and totally geeked out. I was beside myself. Tickled pink! The fact that a woman is speaker of the house? Oh, my God!”
On how she blows off steam: “Honor is the best cure for stress. When I spend time with her, I get instant perspective. I can be hard on myself if I don’t do everything perfectly. But now that I have her, there’s no time for that. I want to teach her that you can learn from your mistakes, and if you keep moving and stay positive and loving, everything will work out.”
On what she does in the Internet: “I’ve bought 70 percent of my house off CraigsList! I’ve found so many things: couches, tables, lamps. I love the idea of recycling furniture and there being a history there.”
On her marriage: “I love the way I feel after Cash and I wake up. Or talk on the phone. Everything! Every time I see him or talk to him, I fall in love with him all over again.”
On life in 10 years: “I’d love to be raising my kids on a farm in the South of France. My mother-in-law has lived there for more than 20 years, and she has a beautiful setup. I want to be able to allow Honor and my other kids, who I hope to be blessed with in the future, to maintain their innocence for as long as possible. There is so much time to be an adult.”

I’ve re-added Jessica’s 2007 GQ photoshoot (and my personal favourite) to the gallery again. I had to remove them about 2years ago as i was contacted by a photo agency, but the photographer is now represented by a new agency so we should be fine. Enjoy!
