  • Alba left Mike Myers gasping

    by admin 19 Jun 2008
Category: Movies, News/Rumours  No Comments »

Mike Myers says he was star-struck and tongue twisty when it came to co-starring with the stunning Jessica Alba.

Myers stars opposite Alba in the comedy flick “Love Guru”.

“She would come to set and there would be audible gasps from all of us. I was like … wow,” Fox News quoted Myers, as telling Pop Tarts.

While referring to Alba’s pleasing aesthetic, the actor said: “Jessica Alba is not only one of the most down-to-earth, lovely people that I have ever met, she’s one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen in my life.”

But while Myers was in awe of Alba, fellow actor Romany Malco couldn’t control himself in her presence.

“Jessica’s so easy it’s crazy, because she’s so down and easy that she’s really approachable. When I first met Jessica I just started rambling. We just rambled for hours,” he added.

Alba’s Father Says Honor Marie “Has Jessica’s Complexion”

Father’s Day came early for Jessica Alba’s proud papi, Mark Alba. The California-based realtor was in Florida when he heard the news that Jessica was delivering, and tells us his daughter “flew him right out” to Los Angeles so he could be the first to get a glimpse of his granddaughter, Honor Marie Warren.

Mark revealed exclusively to Latina.com that little Honor Marie is the spitting image of her mother: “She’s got Jessica’s complexion, her hair, her eyes. She looks like Jessica when she was a baby.” The doting grandpa couldn’t stop himself from gushing, telling us he “thought Jessica was the prettiest baby I had ever seen, but I was wrong.” That title now belongs to Honor, he says.

Honor’s birth marks a special milestone in the Alba family: “I’m so happy because we have four generations of boys and girls in our family,” he said, adding that “everybody was crying” when Honor made her first appearance.

“I was really choked up,” Mark said. “I never thought that I would cry so much. The fact that this little girl came out of my daughter’s stomach, it blows my mind,” he exclaimed, adding that he wasn’t nearly as emotional when Jessica’s brother Josh Alba’s first child was born. “Somehow, this was different,” he said.

Though Mark has to jet back to Florida on business, he tells us that Jessica is resting comfortably at her Los Angeles home with her entire family—including hubby Cash Warren’s father, actor Michael Warren—and that she’s “got a wonderful nanny, and her mother will be there to help her” as she gets accustomed to motherhood.

“This is my father’s day,” Mark concluded, sounding teary. “We have such a blessed family.”

Congratulations to the happy family—and especially the proud abuelo!

Jessica Alba’s brother Josh couldn’t be happier about his new niece Honor Marie. “I’m ecstatic!” Josh, 25, told Usmagazine.com by phone Monday, two days after his star sis, 27, delivered in L.A. “I have seen her, and she is very beautiful.” So does Honor look more like mom or dad Cash Warren? “I can never tell with newborns,” Josh said. “There are not really any features. I can’t tell yet.”

He said his big sister “is doing great.” He added that Warren “is one of the happiest men alive right now.” Asked if they’ll make good parents, Josh told Us, “absolutely.” Alba and Warren tied the knot in a surprise ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse on May 19.

Jessica Alba’s costars Justin Timberlake and Mike Myers in The Love Guru showered the new mom with well-wishes Monday.

“Congratulations Jessica!” said Timberlake at a press day in L.A. for the comedy. “She seems very patient, and I would assume that’s what it takes to be a good mother, a good parent for that matter.”

Alba, 27, and her husband Cash Warren, 31, welcomed daughter Honor Marie Warren on Saturday in Los Angeles.

“Honor Marie – that’s a cool name,” Timberlake says. “I’m happy for them. It’s beautiful.”

“She’ll be a great mother,” adds Myers. “She’s smart, she’s talented and she’s one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever worked with.”

And Guru costar Romany Malco says, “I would see her as being the type of mom who’s hip, hot, and at the same time very stern.”

    More Baby News

Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren have welcomed a baby girl.

Honor Marie Warren was born June 7 in Los Angeles, her rep, Brad Cafarelli, confirms. This is the couple’s first child.

Alba, 27, and Warren, 31, quietly wed on May 19 at the Beverly Hills courthouse. The two met while working on Fantastic Four, for which Warren was the director’s assistant. They became engaged last December.

The actress recently did some last-minute shopping for baby gear at Bel Bambini on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, picking up items such as Born Free baby bottles and a Boppy pillow for breastfeeding.

“She seemed relaxed,” says a source, “and ready to welcome home her baby.”

As for the kind of parent she plans to be, the actress recently told Fit Pregnancy that she’ll walk the line between tough and nurturing. “I don’t want to be my child’s best friend. I want to be a mom,” she said. “But I do want my child to come to me when they have problems and need to talk, so it’s going to be about treading that line.”

    Jessica gives birth

Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren have welcomed a baby girl. She was born this weekend at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Alba’s father was overheard saying “she’s beautiful.” Warren — in a T-shirt, jeans and baseball cap — was spotted carrying food into the maternity ward Sunday.

    Her rep had no comment.

Alba, 26, and Warren, 28, announced they were expecting last December. During her pregnancy, Alba admitted, “anything could make me incredibly angry or break down crying. That’s not something I’m used to.” Her one fear about mommyhood: Breastfeeding. She told Extra she had a dream, and “it had to do with breastfeeding, which is the only thing I’m paranoid about. More than giving birth.”

She and Warren got engaged after announcing their baby news. They quietly wed in the Beverly Hills courthouse’s ceremony room on May 19. They just moved into a $4 million Beverly Hills home with their three dogs.

“It’s a lot of stress to buy a house, have a baby and get married in six months,” she recently told USA Weekend. “It’s a lot of life-changing decisions. I’m really, really secure and happy in my relationship.”

    USA Weekend Interview

The star talks motherhood, nutty movies (”The Love Guru”) and mysticism.

Jessica Alba is a little gaga. It’s not because she has a potentially big movie with Mike Myers, “The Love Guru.” about to hit theaters (June 20). Alba, 27 and newly married, has another major production on her mind — the impending birth of her first child.

This is Hollywood, and, of course, the blessed event is complete with chandelier in the nursery, exotic moniker (”Honor” was being bandied) and starry shower. And by the time you read this, she already may be a proud new mother.

In “The Love Guru.” she plays the levelheaded love object, the foil for Myers’ manic mystic: “I’m kind of the straight woman throughout,” she tells us while multi-tasking diva-style, getting her hair and makeup done for a photo shoot. “For the most part, the goofy stuff is left to everyone else.”

Even before they married on May 19, the actress and her husband, film producer Cash Warren, 29, had settled into a $4 million Beverly Hills home with their three dogs to await the birth of their child. Alba says, “It’s a lot of stress to buy a house, have a baby and get married in six months. It’s a lot of life-changing decisions. I’m really, really secure and happy in my relationship.”

Here’s more from our talk with Alba.

Tell us about your role in “The Love Guru.”
I am a huge fan of Mike and his work. He is a freakin’ comic genius. My character inherits this hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. They haven’t won a game, and the city of Toronto basically blames her and her family. She thinks you have to heal from within, and she believes in Eastern philosophies. One of the books she reads is the Love Guru’s.

Do you have a spiritual side?
I grew up in a Catholic home and then I went into a more Eastern approach on my own. I think there’s something to be said for herbs and meditation and things like that.

What’s been your least favorite movie role?
There are quite a few.I feel like more than anything, I’m at the beginning of my career. I’m hoping to hit my groove when I’m in my 30s and 40s.

Let’s talk about the baby. Have you gotten any outrageous offers for photos?
I haven’t really gotten any — notthat I’m aware of. You have to understand, everything that is written is kind of bull …

Do you have a chandelier in the nursery like Jennifer Lopez?
Actually, I do. I got a really beauti- ful one.

    Do you plan to nurse?
Yeah, I’m definitely going to try to do everything to give the baby as much nourishment as possible.

About nourishment, what was the last thing you cooked?
Last night we had halibut soft tacos and a really amazing vegetable salad and panini doughnuts. You buy regular or apple fritter doughnuts and make a panini — Cash’s favorite.

You were criticized for disrespecting your Hispanic heritage. On a census, what would you check?
I always check white and Hispanic.

You said you can’t wait to meet your brown baby. What do you mean?
I mean my dad is dark-skinned [Mexican], Cash’s daddy is dark-skinned [African-American], and our moms are both white. So there’s a 50-50 chance of our kid coming out dark or light. It would be nice if the daddies can see themselves in our baby.

Do you think, especially after this presidential election, that we won’t be so obsessed with skin color as a nation?
I think my generation is the last generation that sees color. In this next generation coming up, everybody is mixed. And I think with people like Jennifer Lopez and Halle Berry being out there opening movies and having clothing lines and pushing the idea of ideal beauty, [the ideal isn't] Christie Brinkley anymore. You don’t have to look like Barbie.

Hey guys, checking back in to see how everyone’s doing. I can’t tell you how much your notes have meant to me over the last few months. Sorry I don’t get a chance to write back to each and every one of you. The last month I’ve been getting the house prepped for the new arrival and spending quality time with our families.
