Jessica Alba is bringing her celebrity fashion sense to “Project Runway.”
Lifetime spokeswoman Kannie Yu LaPack says Alba will serve as a guest judge on Thursday’s episode of the popular clothing-design competition show.
The 28-year-old actress will help judge a challenge in which the remaining six contestants must create an outfit for an “opinionated celebrity,” who they will later discover is show host Heidi Klum.
Other guest judges this season have included Nicole Richie, Molly Sims and Lauren Hutton.

Hollywood starlet Jessica Alba may be known as a sex siren, but she has shown her serious side by encouraging children in Joburg’s Alexandra township to go to school.
Alba said: “I’ve had an incredible visit to South Africa, listening and learning about the fight for education for all and sharing in the excitement about the upcoming World Cup.”
The 28-year-old was recently part of the star-studded cast of the comedy Valentine’s Day. In 2001 Maxim magazine rated her No1 on its Hot 100 list, which names the world’s 100 most beautiful women.
But her visit to South Africa is a philanthropic one. Alba is a guest of 1Goal, a Fifa initiative that seeks to give all children access to education.
“Not only is this going to be a tournament to remember, the education summit President [Jacob] Zuma is planning will help to ensure that the lasting legacy of this World Cup will be education for every child,” she said.
The Times caught up with the mother of a 20-month-old daughter, Honor, and her film-producer husband, Cash Warren, while on their visit. The couple arrived in a cream Land Rover without their baby girl, accompanied by six bodyguards and a camera crew.
The petite actress, dressed in navy skinny jeans, a white top and brown pumps, walked around smiling and chatting to the children on a soccer field in the impoverished township, while a local team was warming up for a soccer game.
Alba spoke to the children, who didn’t seem to know who she was, saying: “It’s very important to go to school, even though it’s tough and expensive. Education is important, so you must all keep going to school.”
Later, she encouraged followers on her Twitter page to join the effort: “Sign up to [1GOAL to] ensure every child has access to an education.”
Alba was spotted outside Safa House in Jo burg yesterday morning, before heading to Soweto to visit a school, along with local organising committee head Danny Jordaan.
She also visited a gum-boot dance studio, which she seemed to have enjoyed.
She tweeted : “I am so inspired by the Gumboot Dancing Studio in Alex township, and Jack who runs the programme. Thank you for the amazing performance.”

Jessica Alba was his “Dark Angel” for two television seasons, so it’s little surprise James Cameron is the Oscar nominee she’s rooting loudest for.
“‘Avatar’ is incredible, just incredible,” Alba tells Zap2it of filmmaker Cameron’s box-office-shattering achievement, which has nine nominations including best picture in Sunday’s (Mar. 7) 82nd Annual Academy Awards.
“I love what Jim is doing for the environment, just in what his movie says about taking care of and trying to save our planet. It’s such a beautiful message.”
Alba will do some good herself as a celebrity volunteer on the Sunday, Apr. 4 episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on ABC.
She admires Cameron’s use of his artistry to try to influence others, citing his “ability to create the most incredible world. That he can articulate that and put it on the screen is just amazing.
“There’s nobody like him, and we’re all blessed to have him be one of the best directors in our lifetime. He’s creating a platform for others to tie social messages into entertainment.”
“Fantastic Four” and “Sin City” alum Alba won’t attend Sunday’s Oscars (“I’m going to be traveling; I don’t even know if I’ll be able to see it on the plane”), but she admits she wouldn’t be upset if Cameron’s ex-wife took the best-director honors instead.
“I loved ‘The Hurt Locker.’ I thought Kathryn Bigelow did something really incredible, so she and Jim are my faves.”

Jessica Alba might show traces of her “Fantastic Four” character’s superpowers and turn invisible when it comes time for the “Fantastic Four” reboot, but the “Valentine’s Day” actress is proud of her stint as Sue Storm, one of the first female superheroes to arrive on the big screen.
In their last screen incarnation, “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” Marvel’s favorite superhero family fended off Galactus. Given her potential roles in “Sin City 2″ and an adaptation of the French comic book series “The Insiders,” it’s no stretch to believe Alba will soon be kicking butt onscreen again.
“I don’t know anything about it,” Alba said of the “Fantastic Four” reboot during a “Valentine’s Day” dinner with MTV Movies Editor Joshua Horowitz.
While rumors of a darker “Fantastic Four” film probably don’t mean we’re any closer to seeing Sue Storm’s possessed alter ego Malice, Alba is pleased with her two installments to the series thus far — even if the studio starts from scratch as expected.
“Our ['Fantastic Four'] made a lot of money and kids loved it,” said Alba. “And little boys and little girls look up to a female as a superhero. To be one of the first — if not the first — in this generation to do that, I was pretty honored.”
“So, I’m happy that’s out there,” she said.

According to the National Enquirer via Musicrooms.net, Jessica takes parenting tips from Nicole Richie. Read the full article below.
The star has two children with her fiancé Joel Madden, daughter Harlow, two, and five-month-old son Sparrow. She loves spending time with her kids and is keen to impart the parenting tips she has picked up to her friends.
She has taken actress Jessica Alba, who has 20-month-old daughter Honor with her husband Cash Warren, under her wing, and the girls can often be found discussing how best to raise their kids.
“Mothering is Nicole’s thing now, and she’s begun to mentor Jessica,” a source said. “Jessica already has adopted Nicole’s strict no-TV ban and she’s feeding a healthy, natural diet to her little girl. She cut out all food containing processed sugars. She prepares all-organic home-cooked meals and she buys groceries from Whole Foods or the farmer’s market.”
Jessica, 28, has never allowed Honor to sip shop-made fruit drinks, instead choosing to crush apples and oranges and make her own. She admits Nicole is the reason Honor’s diet is so good, claiming she is an inspiration to her.
“Jessica is quick to give the credit to Nicole,” the source explained to National Enquirer magazine. “She says Nicole opened her eyes to living and eating in a sustainable, responsible way.”

JESSICA Alba says it’s OK to stay with ‘Mr Right Now’ and says there should be no pressure to find ‘Mr Right’.
Valentine’s Day star Jessica Alba, who is married to Cash Warren, says sticking with ‘Mr Right Now’ until he “gets on your nerves” is perfectly acceptable.
She told OK.co.uk: “It’s OK to be with ‘Mr Right Now’, as long as he doesn’t get on your nerves. Once they start getting on your nerves they’ve got to go. But you can stay with ‘Mr Right Now’ until that happens. It takes about a week-and-a-half to a month before they get annoying.”
And the actress, who married Cash in 2008, says even when you meet ‘Mr Right’, it’s not always an easy ride.
She added: “I kind of did it all at once [marriage and having a baby]. Love is ever evolving and it takes compromise, work and patience. Right when you think you have a grasp on how to love your partner everything gets turned upside down and you have to step up your game and evolve together.
“That’s something I didn’t know until six years later. Being married to me is all about knowing I have a partner in life and that someone’s got my back. Your husband or your wife is the only person you can really choose to be your family and have that unconditional love for.”
Jessica told us she’ll be spending Valentine’s Day at home with daughter Honor and husband Cash.
She said: “I will be flying home the day before [Valentine’s Day] and I have a little cherub, my daughter, that I’m going to be kissing and loving all day – and a hubby. My day will consist of lots of hugs and kisses.”

Last night, we had the pleasure of meeting the stunning, amazing and all round drop-dead-gorgeous Jessica Alba. She’s in town for the premiere of Valentine’s Day tonight, but thought she’d take some time out to chat to us in her role as one of the faces of Revlon. Ain’t that sweet!
After stepping off her delayed flight, Jessica looked fresh and fabulous and, even if she was tired and jet-lagged, she couldn’t have been nicer. After getting over the fluster of meeting our girl crush, we probed into Jessica’s beauty secrets, obvs. She told us…
- she loves Revlon’s lipstick in Revlon Red, ‘it’s just a classic shade that I love’
- currently she’s obsessing about Revlon’s new Colorburst lipstick in Plum (out here in June)
- she swears by Yonka skincare and only likes to wear a tinted moisturiser
She also let us in on a little style secret – she’s almost certainly wearing a Prada dress that she helped design for tonight’s premiere. ‘I better wear Prada tonight seeing as I’ve told you that now!’ She’ll also be painting her nails with Revlon’s Valentine nail polish. How fitting! Although she’s wearing Prada to the premiere, she’s also lusting after the ‘silhouettes of Antonio Beradi and Proenza Schouler’. Well, who wouldn’t?
Look out for more from Jessica Alba in the magazine soon.

Imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery for Jessica Alba.
The actress said Saturday she’s been distressed by Internet reports about a Chinese woman who is having a plastic surgery makeover to look like Alba in hopes of getting her lover back.
“I think you should never have to change yourself like that,” Alba said. “If somebody loves you, they’ll love you no matter what.”
Alba, who is starring in the upcoming film “Valentine’s Day,” is in town for the Super Bowl; she was at an Audi party Friday with Hilary Swank, Taylor Lautner, Rob Lowe, New York Giant Osi Umenyiora and former New England Patriot Tedy Bruschi. It was one of numerous celebrity soirees attached to the Super Bowl.
But she’s not just in town to party — she and hubby Cash Warren will be at Sunday’s game. They hired a baby sitter to take care of their infant daughter, Honor, for the big game, but they’ve been spending the week enjoying Miami with their little girl.
“So far, she likes all the lights. Every time somebody honks or she hears sirens or something, she points everything out,” she said. “It’s really fun. Lots of screaming, lots of lights, and lots of cars. The most stimulating environment for a 19-month-old.”
