This interview may come to you as a surprise as the two had a mini-feud going on for the past few years. Jessica explain how it all started in ELLE, Feb, 2008 “It was all because I wouldn’t take photos with him at a night club,” she says. “It would probably be smart for me to hang out and kiss up to what’s his name, Perez….” What a difference 4-years can make!

“When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been,” she says. “It’s the most satisfying job in the world. But, it can also be overwhelming and confusing. The famine in Somalia has killed 30,000 children in 3 months. In 2011 we have the opportunity to make famine a thing of the past. Lives are in your hands. Please fully fund Feed the Future and help break the cycle of famine for good.
Bono, George Clooney, Jessica Alba, Idris Elba and more unite behind ONE’s new campaign to help focus the world’s attention again on the famine and food crisis in the Horn of Africa.
This summer, a food crisis emerged in the Horn of Africa and now threatens the lives of more than 13 million people. Although we’ve come a long way since the Ethiopian famine of 1984-85, it’s time to make sure this doesn’t happen again – anywhere. In Africa and beyond, the US government is investing in local agriculture, safety nets, risk management, and other programs so that this type of tragedy becomes history. But this fall, Congress threatens to cut foreign assistance programs like Feed the Future that sustainably help people break the cycle of poverty and hunger. This, coupled with increased peace and security can help ensure famine never happens again.
ONE is campaigning to ensure that the Congressional budget does not cut foreign assistance programs that help people break the cycle of poverty and hunger.
I’ve updated Alba-videos.net with two clips of Jessica Alba at last week’s ALMA Awards. The first clip is Jessica presenting the favourite Actor award to antonio banderas. And the second clip is Jessica receiving her award for favourite actress. Enjoy!
Latina magazine celebrates its 15th anniversary with a special collector’s issue, “15 Latinas We Love,” which highlights fifteen of the most influential Latina celebrities from throughout the magazine’s 15-year history on its extraordinary October 2011 cover. (Click on the cover above to view it in full size and colour).
Be sure to check out the 15 Latinas We Love! to hear what all of our beauties had to say about being on the cover and what it means to them to be Latina.
WHY WE LOVE HER:
Playing a racially ambiguous superhuman in James Cameron’s Dark Angel turned Alba into a 21st century action hero capable of blurring race, gender and class lines while burning up the small screen.
No habla español? No problem! Though she wasn’t raised speaking Spanish at home in California (Alba’s grandparents José and Isabel deliberately chose not to raise Spanish-speaking children in 1960s America for fear of being marginalized), Jessica is learning the language and instilling cultural pride in her three-year-old daughter Honor and newborn baby, Haven.
Family is numero uno for this supermom, who makes the switch from diaper duty to the red carpet appear effortless. No wonder she inspired Robert Rodriguez’ latest film, Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World!
This eco-chica also runs a green household—the synthetic grass in her Los Angeles home is made of recycled materials, for one—and is committed to making the earth a cleaner place through her upcoming collection of sustainable baby and lifestyle products, called The Honest Company, scheduled to launch soon.
ON LATINAS IN HOLLYWOOD: “There [are] a lot of really strong, really cool, completely dynamic women that are Latina that young women can look up to. I love that because I certainly didn’t have those role models when I was growing up and it’s nice that I’m part of this generation. So I feel very honored and blessed to be in such good company for sure.”
Our wonderful host Hollywood.com recently caught up with Rodriguez and All the Time in the World stars Jessica Alba, Joel McHale, and Jeremy Piven to talk about their experience re-inventing Spy Kids for a new generation. The Honest Company
The Honest Company is a newly created brand that passionately believes that all parents should have access to safer, healthier family products that don’t break the bank. Parents are becoming increasingly concerned about poorly regulated, chemically-laden, baby products, but the alternatives are often expensive, inaccessible, and bland. The need and desire for affordable and non-toxic products – e...specially baby diapers and essentials – is greater than ever.
In response to this market gap, The Honest Company offers a monthly subscription service providing expert curated children’s products consisting of what mom’s need most, all conveniently delivered to subscribers’ front-doors!
"When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been," she says. "It's the most satisfying job in the world. But, it can also be overwhelming and confusing. I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start."
"As a mother, I cannot imagine what it must be like for parents who cannot afford the most basic necessities for their babies. No child, regardless of his/her family's socio-economic status, should ever be without diapers, food, clothing or hygiene items. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the burden on these families by providing them with these essentials."
"I was alarmed to learn about all the potential harmful products in my home and lifestyle – like toxic chemicals in plastics used to make baby bottles, brain toxins in children’s toys, carcinogens in my cleaning products… the list went on and on!
Please stand with me as concerned citizen and parent and take action today. Ask your Senators to support the Safe Chemicals Act of 2011. This new bill that would increase the safety of chemicals used in your consumer products, increase public access to health and safety information, and protect vulnerable populations like pregnant women and children."
