Yes or No to Candids?
Tuesday, January 18th, 2011
Filed under: Candids, Site Updates, Vote ∣ 17 Comments

What are your views on candids/paparazzi shots?? I know everyone including myself are interested in Jessica’s activities outside of work, but it’s becoming extremely uncomfortable for me to post pictures of her and family looking angry, sad, miserable etc. Therefore I’m thinking of stopping candid related posts all together and focus on the rest. Please cast your vote below. (any good celebrity blog posts daily candids, if we stop posting them).

Thanks everyone who took part in the poll. I shall continue to post candids since its what most of you want, and the site is for the fans after all. Besides that, Jessica hardly attend any events (unless she has something to promote) so there would be nothing to update the site with.

I voted no.
I don’t want make the moralist, any person at least once has pried in the privacy of someone, any fan would like to pry into the life of own favorite star, but behind the star there is a person like many others, with the same rights. There is a limit that should not be exceeded for decency, common sense and education, and to not become like a gossipy old woman who says, “how she is dressed today?, where will she go today? what will she do today? what has eaten today? look at the haircut, she looks nervous, she looks sad,how many times she went to the bath today, bla bla bla…”, there are more important things in life that snoop on the private life of a person private.
When I open the homepage of Jessicaalba.net and I see those pics I sometimes feel guilty, what sense does it violate the privacy of a person, of a child, of a family 24/24 hours 7 / 7 days?
The decent people or the fans should understand the hardship and pain that a person persecuted by the paps can try, and you should be ashamed and feel angry in front of this is violence without sense, paparazzi do not want to find a serious work, politicians do not legislate enough to protect the privacy of people (just to try to censure internet), at least we should have some education and common sense, I know I seem rhetorical but I’m not so.
Unfortinaly most people will vote yes because they can not do without it, but my opinion on this matter is that the choice whether to continue or not to publish those shots belongs to the webmaster of the site, if indeed he feels extremely uncomfortable to publish those candids, he should not publish, delegate this choice to a survey is not democratic but irresponsible…. IMHO.

It’s a tough one. Not posting them will not stop the paps taking them and making her life more difficult, but any Alba fan does not want to encourage that kind of behaviour. Personally I would just be a bit more selective. At basketball games etc is okay, but out shopping is too much. Anytime she has Honour with her should be immediately written off. There is no excusing hassling Jess when she has her daughter with her. I really think it’s great that you are adressing this

Thats what being famous is like? Having paparazzi take shots of you doing normal stuff? I voted no.

I won’t be coming here anymore if you’re not going to post candids anymore. Sorry. But that’s the only way we really ever see Jess anymore.

I actually appreciate that you post candids and so many of them – the celebrity blogs cherry pick the pictures, usually to make celebs look bad. I remember when Honor was a baby and everyone kept saying she looked as miserable all time as her mother, I could come to your very complete archive and be like, she’s smiling in this pic! Or when Jessica was pregnant and everyone kept saying she never smiled, and she did. I much prefer coming to a site that doesn’t lie about Jessica or call her fat or other horrible to see pictures and know I’m not getting the selected pics that some jerk thought would make her or her child look bad.

I vote no. Keep the candids. There’s many, many reasons and angles for this topic, so here are some quick thoughts of mine.

Firstly (and I’ll try to keep each one brief), the person running this site (Mahdi) always posts candids and present them in a positive way. They’re in no way negative towards Alba. They’re just a reflection of the truth—whether it’s good or bad, which is what I think we, as fans, want.

Secondly, it’s a fan site. The whole concept of a fan site is to keep in touch with a favored celebrity, including the odd look at their daily events.

Thirdly, and although this might be a philosophical one, I think it’s true. It’s simple, the media makes a celebrity. Without it, they wouldn’t be in the public consciousness, and hence, not a celebrity.

What annoys me with people who are in the public eye (this includes most of the famous people – not just Jessica Alba), is that they rely on this sort of exposure to make it big, and then once they do, they simply want it to go away. Put metaphorically; you’ve baked your cake, now eat it or throw it (you career as a movie star), away.

Lastly, you’ve got to remember the paps aren’t usually the nicest people in the world either. I bet the frowns are aimed towards the absurd gestures, rudeness, scenes and language they’re often found presenting to the public and indeed the celebrity.

Apologies for the long post, but as a long-time fan, that’s my two cents folks.

KEEP THE CANDIDS. ALL OF THEM. PLEASE.

I know it can be morally wrong to post some of the pictures depending on which angle you,re looking at this whole situation… but she’s a celebrity and it comes with the territory…
And also, I loveee seeing all of her outfits!! That’s the main reason why I like candids, it’s because I get to see what fashionable outfits she wears on a daily basis.

I voted no, but the fact is that paps will follow her around whether or not your site posts the pics. Its a fact of life today in Hollywood, like it or not.

I would agree however, with one of the comments above: post the pics when its clear that she wouldn’t mind (i.e. when she’s dolled up going out with hubby, etc) NOT when she’s with her daughter at the drugstore. We dont’ need to see that.

if you don’t post these candids : others websites will do it…

I think that, if you feel bad about posting candids, then, well, I would post only the ones that I could see she’s not angry or something like that…

The truth is that I am not sure I will visit this gorgeous website if you do not post candids any more. I am really sorry, but I am being honest. I like seeing celebs in their everyday life and not only with make-up and on the red carpet. This is why I love this website and I think I am not the only one.

Besides, the general picture is that the candids are a small price that celebrities pay for all other benefits their lifestyle gives them. I mean, normal people like us have to deal with many more problems and much harder work than that to earn our money.

I voted yes! Jessica Alba is my idol (not in the creepy way) i just love her personality and after that i like her beauty. And lets be realistic – she is not that girl in the red carpet when she is outside. I prefer to look at her on the street instead on the red carpet, because that who she is in life. And be realistic – if you want to be a celeb you have to deal with this things, it’s natural. If you r a celeb this is the real life a.k.a. paparazzzziii. If you don’t want to be followed on the street by paparazzi you wont be actress or singer or anything that takes the risk. Sorry but this is the truth! I’m sure that she is not comfortable with the all “paparazzi” thing but it’s a prize you have to pay when you r celeb. I don’t want to know where she goes, or where she lives, or with who she is spending her free time, i just want to see her in her real life. That’s all! Thank you!

Advantages to having paparazzi follow you around:

1. As a beautiful young women worth millions, no one is going to rob, kidnapp or molest you on the street with 12 guys 10 feet away snapping picutures

2. No one will mess with your car (same reason as above)

3. In a strange way, it might even help Jessica realize that when she is not promoting a movie or other project, it is a legitimate way to stay in the public eye. Fashion mags/website like to use candids etc.

4. Finally: there is no way Jess or Warren could dream of having a secret affair!

Please do not stop posting those pictures ! Your site is one of the greatest mainly because of candid shots. Being a huge fan of Jessica and being able to see what’s her normal life is like is really great and i’m sure it’s not only me who think so.
Additionally, i’m pretty much involved in fashion industry and Jessica’s casual style is a quite inspiration to me (and my friends).

i’m not even from US so it’s nice to see that some ppl are able to walk with just a little warmer sweater on while I’m covering my body from head to toe cuz the winter in here is reeeaaalllyyy cold. Like little vacations via internet ;)))

Just filter out the negative candids, focus on the positive.
