 Jessica Alba and fiancé Cash Warren are making the final preparations for their first child – and the actress says time’s running out. “I’m just trying to get my house ready before the baby comes,” Alba, 26, said Wednesday night at PEOPLE’s book party for Healthy Child Healthy World author Christopher Gavigan. “It’s kind of hectic, it’s getting close and the house isn’t even ready yet.”
With Alba taking time off from acting, she’s handling the bulk of the duties to get ready for baby, which Alba revealed recently is a girl. “I’m not working so it’s been a good place to put all my energy so it’s been a nice distraction,” she said at the event at Lucques restaurant in West Hollywood. “I’m used to having to be somewhere all the time, and it’s kind of the first time in my life where I really haven’t been working in a while, and now it’s just about the baby being healthy, the house being ready, and nesting, it’s really different. It’s cool – I feel like I’m fully absorbing the whole experience.”
She hasn’t been too busy to think about wedding plans – “How could you not!” she says – but Alba’s keeping mum on the details. Meanwhile, in between nesting, Alba is keeping an eye on her pre-natal diet. “I have to make sure that I’m eating more of the right nutrients and vitamins, but I’m not used to eating this much,” she says. “I’ve had to take time out of the day to eat before I get cranky and rundown and tired. Before I was just like the energizer bunny.”

As if winning the genetic lottery wasn’t enough, Baby Alba just scored big time in the swag department.
Some of Mama Jessica’s friends and family descended upon Ever After Teahouse in Studio City Sunday for a baby shower.
About 35 people made it through a gauntlet of paparazzi to get to the party, including Rashida Jones, Jaime King and Kim Kardashian, who told E! News her gift included “stuff from my store, Smooch.”
Guests began trickling in at 1 p.m., and Alba made her entrance at exactly 1:30, wearing a long black dress and black glasses, with her hair down. She was hustled in via a side entrance.
The shower took place outside, under white umbrellas. Lavender and white dominated the decor, and the soundtrack was definitely on the mellow side, featuring Buena Vista Social Club, Sade and light jazz.
The menu included white wine, lemonade, iced tea and coffee and an assortment of ice cream drinks; skewers of tiger shrimp and soft-pulled chicken; and for dessert, white and dark chocolate-dipped strawberries, mini doughnut varietals, mini custard tarts and mini eclairs.
Attendees received large turquoise goodie bags.
At 1:45 p.m., Alba began unwrapping a stack of presents, including high-end strollers and cradles, and baskets full of Dr. Seuss books, rattles and clothes. There was a giant white stuffed bunny and lots of flower bouquets.
Many of the clothes were a gender-neutral yellow or green; however, Alba told guests she was expecting a girl in June.
As she exited, Jones told E! News, “It was fun. Great cupcakes.” Added Kardashian: “It was awesome.”
Baby daddy Cash Warren arrived about an hour and a half after the party started, entering via back alley, and just in time to help haul off all the loot.

Star has learned exclusively the name and gender of the baby Jessica Alba is having with her fiancé Cash Warren!
The couple is having a girl named Honor Warren.
Jessica’s friends are snapping up gifts for the Fantastic Four star’s baby shower, which will be thrown by her manager Chris Henze’s wife at a private home in Los Angeles on April 6. One of the guests had a gold and bead charm bracelet made specifically for Jessica’s baby shower at an L.A. jewelry store on March 25. The charms spelled out HONOR.
“This woman was so exited that Jessica is having a girl,” says the source. “She said she loved the name too, Honor, and said Jessica picked it because she felt it was an honor to have Cash’s baby. She said she couldn’t wait to give it to Jessica this weekend. She asked twice if the bracelet would be ready by then.”
This is the first baby for Cash and Jessica who became engaged in December.
